A muscle with origin from the cuboid and the middle and the lateral cuneiform bones, with insertion to the base of the proximal phalanx of the big toe, with nerve supply from the medial and the lateral plantar nerves, and whose action flexes the big toe.

flexor hallucis brevis,
short flexor muscle of great toe; a muscle that inserts in the base of the proximal phalanx of the great toe and flexes it. It is innervated by the medial plantar nerve.
