The agreements with BASF include the insecticide fipronil and selected fungicides for seed treatment applications.
Bayer's initial strength in insecticides made it necessary for the company to sell the newly acquired fipronil (active ingredient in Regent insecticide) to satisfy the U.
According to Bob Hickman, market development specialist for Termidor, "the active ingredient fipronil has a low solubility in water and tends to bind to soil, limiting its movement," he said.
