Finger stick
A technique for collecting a very small amount of blood from the fingertip area.

finger stick,
the act of puncturing the tip of the finger to obtain a small sample of capillary blood. In some procedures the hand may be first immersed in warm water for 10 minutes to "arterialize" the capillary blood or give it characteristics similar to those of arterial blood.

Under the bill, HIV counselors who perform finger sticks for rapid HIV testing will no longer need to become certified as limited-phlebotomy technicians (LPTs).
Half of the patients will get their normal standard of care, which is intensive management with finger sticks using glucose monitors.
Not only because of the finger sticks is it a great option, but, also because of the visual issues.
