ficin /fi·cin/ (fi´sin) ficain. ficin a highly active, crystallizable proteinase from the sap of fig trees, which catalyzes the hydrolysis of many proteins at acid (4.1) pH, the clotting of milk, and digestion of some living worms, e.g. whipworms.
