Biopsy results positive for Winkler's disease include epithelial hyperplasia, collagen degeneration, focal fibrinoid necrosis, and inflammatory cells with or without cartilage degeneration. The surface is ulcerated and covered by fibrin and/ or fibrinoid necrosis overlying an exuberant granulation tissue. |
