Ferula

(fer'ū-lă),
A genus of plants of the family Umbelliferae. Ferula assa-foetida, Ferula rubricaulis and Ferula foetida furnish asafetida; Ferula galbaniflua and Ferula rubricaulis, galbanium; and Ferula sumbul, sumbul.
