ketoprofen /ke·to·pro·fen/ (-pro´fen) a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug used in the treatment of various rheumatic and nonrheumatic inflammatory disorders, pain, dysmenorrhea, and vascular headaches.

drug class: nonsteroidal antiinflammatory;
action: inhibits prostaglandin synthesis by interfering with cyclooxygenase needed for biosynthesis; possesses analgesic, antiinflammatory, antipyretic properties;
uses: osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, dysmenorrhea.
