| Kazue Yamagishi of Tokyo's FAP Dental Institute and his colleagues have created a pastelike substance that can be painted onto a tooth. Using his model he provided evidence that proliferative abnormality in FAP crypts is due to stem cell overpopulation. Aptosyn(TM) is currently under review by the Food and Drug Administration in the United States for the prevention and treatment of precancerous colon polyps in patients with FAP. |
