Fédération Dentaire Internationale (F. D. I.) Two-Digit System (fā´dāräsyōN dôNter´ eN´ternäs´yōnäl´), n.pr a recognized method used to identify and designate permanent and primary and deciduous teeth within the oral cavity. The first digit represents the quadrant number (1-4) starting with the maxillary right quadrant, moving around the maxillary arch to the left, then down and back to the right, and ending with the mandibular right quadrant.
