indications It is prescribed in the treatment of generalized tonic-clonic and complex-partial seizures.
contraindications Liver disease, hematologic disorders, or known hypersensitivity to this drug or to any hydantoin prohibits its use. It is not recommended for use during pregnancy or lactation.
adverse effects Among the more serious adverse effects are blood disorders, nausea, fatigue, skin rash, alopecia, erythema multiforme, exfoliative dermatitis, and chest pain.
