ethanolamine /eth·a·nol·amine/ (eth″ah-nol´ah-mēn) monoethanolamine.
ethanolamine oleate  the oleate salt of monoethanolamine, used as a sclerosing agent in treatment of varicose veins and esophageal varices.

ethanolamine,
an amino alcohol formed by the decarboxylation of serine. It is a component of certain cephalins and phospholipids and is used as a surfactant in pharmaceutic products. Also called monoethanolamine.

ethanolamine
a colorless, moderately viscous liquid with an ammoniacal odor contained in cephalins and phospholipids, and derived metabolically by decarboxylation of serine.

ethanolamine phosphotransferase
an enzyme of the endoplasmic reticulum, particularly in the liver, that catalyzes the biosynthesis of phosphatidylethanolamine.
