venereal disease of the skin of the genitalia and perineum in stallions and mares caused by equine herpesvirus 3. Characterized by discomfort and discharge locally and the presence of vesicopustular lesions on the penis, prepuce, vulva and vaginal mucosa, and sometimes on the mare's teats and the lips of the foal at foot.
