It has been shown to cause sinusitis, corneal infections, endophthalmitis, parotitis, skin infections, arthritis, osteomyelitis, brain and thyroid abscesses, endocarditis, chronic prostatitis, and disseminated infection?
cereus endophthalmitis secondary to intraocular foreign bodies, but infection can also occur from blunt trauma or a lacerating injury.
Intravitreal injections including those with Macugen have been associated with endophthalmitis.
