Encephalitozoon
a genus of protozoa in the class Microsporea.

Encephalitozoon cuniculi
occurs in rodents, dogs, primates and humans. Has a similar physical appearance and pathogenetic effect to toxoplasmosis. Causes encephalitozoonosis.
