Elokomin fluke fever

a disease of Canidae, ferrets, bears and raccoons caused by a rickettsia-like agent, possibly a strain of Neorickettsia helminthoeca, transmitted by a fluke, Nanophyetus salmincola. Fish are the intermediate host and dogs are infected by eating the fish. Clinical signs are similar to, but milder, than those of salmon poisoning.
