Electrocoagulation a technique using electrical energy to destroy the warts. Usually done for warts within the anus with a local anesthesia, electrocoagulation is most painful form of therapy, and can cause both bleeding and discharge from the anus. electrocoagulation (ēlek´trōkō-ag´yōōla´sh n the use of electrically generated heat to destroy tissue by coagulation necrosis. Usually a platinum wire electrode or loop is used. electrocoagulation a method of electrosurgery used to coagulate tissue, which employs moderately damped or modulated undamped alternating current, and requires both an active concentrating electrode and an inactive dispersing electrode.
