San Diego, CA, announced the first patient has been enrolled in a pivotal trial of its ELAD human cell-based liver assist system at the California Pacific Health Center in San Francisco.
The device called Extracorporeal Liver Assist Device, or ELAD uses immortalized human liver cells.
The Carlyle Residences, by the ELAD Group, developer of New York's venerable Plaza Hotel, is one such property.
