Fumaria officinalis; part used: flowering parts, leaves; uses: laxative, diuretic, epidermal maladies, biliary disease; uses under research: arrhythmias; precautions: pregnancy, lactation, children; patients who suffer from convulsions or elevated internal pressure within the eye; can cause lower pulse and blood pressure, convulsions with over-use, nausea. Also called
earth smoke, hedge fumitory, and
wax dolls.
