Duroziez' murmur
[dY′rōzyās, dir′-, do̅o̅′r-] Etymology: Paul L. Duroziez, French physician, 1826-1897; L, murmur a systolic murmur heard over the femoral or another large artery when the artery is compressed. The phenomenon is associated with high arterial pulse pressure or aortic insufficiency. A diastolic murmur may also be heard when pressure on the artery is increased distal to the stethoscope.
