Duboisia Australian genus of the plant family Solanaceae; contain the piperidine alkaloids nicotine and nor-nicotine, and high concentrations of pyridine alkaloids, e.g. hyoscine, hyoscyamine, with atropine-like actions. Signs include somnolence, tremor, thirst, dilatation of pupil, incoordination. Include D. hopwoodii (pituri, pitchery), D. leichhardtii, D. myoporoides (corkwood). How to thank TFD for its existence?
