Drug Interventions Programme

A substance misuse initiative begun in 2003 (revised in 2005) which is a key element of the UK government’s National Drug Strategy to prevent recidivism of adults who misuse Class A drugs. It focuses on breaking the crime-drug cycle by providing opportunities for drug misusing offenders to access programmes that provide tailored help at all points of contact within the criminal justice system.
