I don’t feel so I have a cancer of the ovaries, and had operation, and chemo (which was not too bad). My family is very helpful and does everything they can to help me, but I feel alone. I always have this feeling in the back of my mind that the disease can return every day. It makes me feel that even if I currently feel good, I can’t enjoy anything because soon it’ll be over. It’s like these feelings raise some kind of wall between me and all those great people around me, and I pretend to be OK. Does someone else share these feelings? A. I have worked with many ovarian cancer patients and have seen how difficult it was for them to cope with the disease, the continuous fear of the unkown and losing their ability to go back to normal living. You should look for online groups of women that have gone through the same process as you and contact them. That can be very helpful for you. There's also an organization called "women to women" that I know help with encouraging women to be strong and think positive. Q. This is Oliver 19 years old.I don’t like to talk to others, even to my parents. I don’ know why? This is Oliver 19 years old. I have no one to share my feeling, so I am writing here to get some advice. First thing is, I am black and fat, this makes me very depressive. I don’t like to talk to others, even to my parents. My younger brother is cuter than me. So I hate him, probably I cry every night especially when I listen to music. Sometimes I am forcing myself to cry, I don’ know why? A. HI OLiver,,whats hapening, wellcome herto the site there are a lot of people that would love to talk to you---dont down yourself, you are a young black man you should be proud;what size you are doesnt matter--keep your head up an dont let what other people call you or say to you bother you---remember to stay away from negative people an you will be alright,I am a 52yr old black man an i will talk to you any time you want, find out what makes you happy/what do you want to do with your life?---mrfoot56 Q. Don’t you feel a bit insincere? I work as a nurse in the ER, and last night a well-known alternative “healer” came to the ER with complaints of bellyache (which turned out to be kidney stones). Now I wouldn’t mind that, except that this healer always speaks against using painkillers and claims that doctors don’t treat the person as a whole like he does. He has no shame to convince patients to avoid hospitals, but when it comes to his own body, he doesn’t seem to believe in his own medications. It’s so frustrating! A. Well, finally someone speaks out loud. Why spend almost 10 year on studying medicine when you can just entitle yourself a “healer” and start taking money. Of course, because you know what you do doesn’t help, you wouldn’t try it on yourself. And the people you treated? Who cares??? I totally agree with you – such behavior is outrageous and dishonest. When he became a priest in 1841, Don Bosco--"Father Bosco" in Italian--dedicated himself to helping the poor, ragged boys he met in the streets of Turin. YOU CAN IMAGINE what the past 20 years have been like for Don Johnston. Think "dance" at the same time you think Don Quixote and something virtuosic springs to mind, most likely, the Petipa-Minkus ballet, a sunny comedy with farcical elements. |
