Digitaria
grass genus containing a large number of valuable species in the family Poaceae. Contains cyanogenetic glycosides, can cause cyanide, and possibly oxalate, poisoning. Includes D. eriantha (D. decumbens), D. didactyla, D. saginata, D. sanguinalis. Called also crabgrass, pangola grass, summer grass.

Digitaria exilis
seed is used for human and animal food, and the plant for pasture or hay. Called also hungry rice, acha.
