DDMAC reviewed exhibit booth panels for Mallinckrodt's MD-Gastroview (diatrizoate meglumine and diatrizoate sodium solution USP) and OptiMARK (gadoversetamide injection) entitled, "Break Through to a Brighter View" and "The Power to Illuminate," respectively, and found them to be misleading because they presented effectiveness claims but failed to reveal any risk information.
On postoperative day 8, a meglumine diatrizoate (Gastrografin) swallow study demonstrated no evidence of extravasation, and oral feedings were begun without complication.
Organic iodides in radiographic contrast media such meglumine diatrizoate (Renograffin, Hypaque) may be seen in the urine sediment for a brief time after injection of the dye.
