Decoy Cell
A small, atypical exfoliated transitional epithelial cell which mimics transitional cell carcinoma-in-situ of the bladder. Decoys cells have normal to enlarged dense, degenerated nuclei, and coarse chromatin, but lack nuclear detail, structure or true atypia; these cells have scant cytoplasm with elongated cytoplasmic wisps or tails, which is seen in bacterially infected urine
