Dandy-Walker cyst
Etymology: Walter E. Dandy, American neurosurgeon, 1886-1946; Arthur E. Walker, American surgeon, b. 1907 a cystic malformation of the fourth ventricle of the brain resulting from hydrocephalus. Diagnosis of the defect is made with computed tomographic scan, x-ray films, and less commonly a ventriculogram. Also called Dandy-Walker malformation. See also hydrocephalus, shunt.
