DUSP1

A gene on chromosome 5q34 that encodes dual-specificity phosphatase 1, a protein which dephosphorylates MAP kinase MAPK1/ERK2. DUSP1 downregulates cell proliferation and is thought to play a key role in cellular responses to environmental stress. It is also a less preferred gene symbol for what is now designated as DUSP12, see there.
