diphtheria and tetanus toxoids and pertussis vaccine (DPT),
an active immunizing agent.
indications It is prescribed for the routine immunization of children less than 6 years of age against diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis.
contraindications Immunosuppressive therapy, active infection, or neurologic disorders prohibit its use.
adverse effect The most serious adverse reaction is anaphylaxis.
