Includes many genera and species, many of them farmed, e.g. Procambarus, Oronectes, Astacus, Pastifastacus spp. Called also freshwater crayfish.

epizootic disease of European crayfish (Astacus astacus) caused by Aphanomyces astaci. Affects also Cherax spp. (American crayfish), Pacifastacus leniusculus.
