a genus of acanthocephalan parasites of the family Polymorphidae. Called also thorny-headed worm.

Corynosoma semerme and Corynosoma strumosum
nonpathogenic parasites in the intestines of dogs and foxes. Cause enteritis in mink. Many species in cetaceans and pinnipeds.
