Corynebacteriaceae /Co·ry·ne·bac·te·ri·a·ceae/ (ko-ri″ne-bak-tēr″e-a´se-e) in former systems of classification, a family of coryneform bacteria, related to the actinomycetes, which included the genera Corynebacterium, Erysipelothrix, and Listeria. Corynebacteriaceae a family of bacteria, made up of usually nonmotile rods, sometimes showing marked variation in form and sometimes beaded or banded with metachromatic granules.
