1. Either of two parallel columns of erectile tissue forming the body of the clitoris in women and the dorsal part of the body of the penis in men.
2. The median column of erectile tissue located between and ventral to these two columns of tissue in the penis, expanding posteriorly into the bulb of the penis and terminating anteriorly as the enlarged glans penis.
Corpus cavernosum (plural, corpora cavernosa)
One of two rods of spongy tissue in the penis that become engorged with blood in order to produce an erection.
