conus /co·nus/ (ko´nus) pl. co´ni [L.] 1. a cone or cone-shaped structure. 2. posterior staphyloma of the myopic eye. conus arterio´sus infundibulum; the anterosuperior portion of the right ventricle of the heart, at the entrance to the pulmonary trunk. conus medulla´ris the cone-shaped lower end of the spinal cord, at the level of the upper lumbar vertebrae. conus termina´lis conus medullaris. co´ni vasculo´si lobules of epididymis.
Conus a genus of shellfish in the family Conidae. the cone-shaped caudal end of the spinal cord; found at the level of the upper lumbar vertebrae in the human spine, but more caudally in domestic animals. crescent, myopic A white area of sclera seen adjacent to the temporal side of the optic disc mainly in pathological myopia, but also sometimes in non-pathological myopia.
