continuous cycling peritoneal dialysis (CCPD),
a type of dialysis in which the patient is attached to an automatic cycler for short exchanges while sleeping at night. Mobility is not feasible because of the cumbersome equipment. During waking hours the patient receives long dialysis exchanges but has ambulatory freedom.
