a physical map of a chromosome or stretch of DNA constructed from sets of overlapping clones (contigs).
A continuous segment of genetic material on a chromosome.
contiga contiguous set of overlapping DNA sequences, which assemble to form a defined region of the genome from which they derived. Contig formation is a necessary step in determining the sequence of an entire genome by the CLONE CONTIG SEQUENCING METHOD. See also GENOMICS.
