In 2007, a significant event for nurses is that most of the public sector nursing agreements covering wages and conditions of employment across the country expire and will need to be re-negotiated. Management must bargain with their employees over salaries, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment except those conditions not considered mandatory. The public official also must be cautious when participating in discussions, negotiations and votes on agenda items that may affect the wages, hours and conditions of employment of his or her spouse. |
