1 a vertical stick or lever that can be manipulated in various directions to control cursor or other movements on a computer screen. It is used mainly in playing computer games. Also called trackball. See also mouse.
2 a vertical stick or lever that can be manipulated in various directions to drive an electric wheelchair.
