Molecular regulation of granulocyte macrophage colony-stimulating factor in human lung epithelial cells by interleukin (IL)-1[beta], IL-4, and IL-13 involves both transcriptional and post-transcriptional mechanisms. This hypothesis is supported by data from an observational, uncontrolled study showing improved survival with use of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) in melioidosis septic shock (32). Aggressive management of their sinonasal fungal disease consisted of surgical debridement and systemic amphotericin B for all patients, and treatment with granulocyte colony-stimulating factor for two patients. |
