Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh

A professional organisation founded in 1505 as the Barber Surgeons of Edinburgh, granted a royal charter in 1506, and dedicated since then to maintaining and promoting the highest standards of surgical practice through education, training and rigourous examination, and its liaison with external medical bodies. Despite its long history, the College prides itself on its continued innovation and adaptability.
