This fall, field collection officers from the Internal Revenue Service will operate under new, streamlined guidelines aimed to improve service, increase consistency and speed the collection of past-due taxes. I never saw the ballot, never saw the arguments pro or con, never had the opportunity to vote or comment and yet I received some bogus assessment bill from the collection officer of the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority. The software allows IBS customer banks to collect past-due credit accounts more efficiently by enabling the collection officer to initiate an ACH transaction upon the customer's authorization. |
