chromhidrosis /chrom·hi·dro·sis/ (kro″mĭ-dro´sis) secretion of colored sweat. chromhidrosis [krō′midrō′sis] Etymology: Gk, chroma + hidros, sweat a rare, functional disorder in which apocrine sweat glands secrete colored sweat. The sweat may be yellow, blue, green, or black and often also fluoresces. A known cause is occupational exposure to copper, catechols, or ferrous oxide.
