A form of cutaneous leishmaniasis caused by Leishmania mexicana, which occurs in chicle workers in Central America, characterised by a predominantly single, painless, ulcerated lesion without regional lymphadenopathy. When located on the ear, it tends to become chronic, causing destruction of the pinna and disfigurement
