Cavalier King Charles spaniel
a small (10-18 lb) dog with prominent eyes, short nose and floppy ears. The haircoat is long and silky. Several colors or combinations are recognized: black and tan, ruby (rich chestnut red), Blenheim (white with chestnut red patches), and tricolor (called Prince Charles in the United States) (white with black patches and tan markings). Similar to, but larger than, the king charles spaniel, and with a longer nose (at least 1.5 inches long). The breed suffers from cardiac valvular disease and the neurological condition known as episodic falling.
