caudal regression syndrome

caudal regression syndrome,
failure of formation of part or all of the coccygeal, sacral, and occasionally lumbar vertebral units and the corresponding segments of the caudal spinal cord, with resulting neurogenic dysfunction of bowel and bladder. Also called sacral agenesis.
