cecitis [sē·sī′tis] Etymology: L, caecus, blind, blind gut inflammation of the cecum. Also called typhlitis. cecitis [se-si´tis] inflammation of the cecum.
cecitis inflammation of the cecum; occurs commonly as a part of a general inflammation of the bowel. The most common cause in dogs is infestation with whipworms (Trichuris vulpis).
