CASC5

A gene on chromosome 15q14 that encodes a protein essential for spindle-assembly checkpoint signalling and for correct chromosome alignment. It is required for attaching kinetochores to the spindle microtubules; it interacts with DSN1, MIS12, BUB1, BUB1B, NSL1 and ZWINT. CASC5 is highly expressed in the testes.
