CORO1A

A gene on chromosome 16p11.2 that encodes an actin-binding protein that may be a key component of the cytoskeleton of highly motile cells, and which may play a role in both the invagination of large chunks of the plasma membrane and the formation of plasma membrane protrusions during cell locomotion. It is expressed in the brain, thymus, spleen, bone marrow and lymph nodes.
