Because of no anti-angiogenic activity reported on CHKA and its stronger effect than other kaurane diterpenoids, we decided to monitor its molecular targets using the Zebrafish model.
As VEGF is the most potent angiogenesis stimulator, we further evaluated the inhibitory effects of CHKA on VEGF-induced angiogenesis both in vitro and in vivo.
Our findings showed that CHKA could suppress Tyr1175 phosphorylation of VEGFR-2 stimulated by VEGF.
