a trademark for a device that modifies human blood cells by circulating them through a box containing a number of polystyrene plates. AIS)(NASDAQ/NMS:AISX) Tuesday reported that data associated with the company's Phase II clinical trial of its AIS CELLector CD5/CD8 device was presented by the principal investigator at the American Society of Hematology's (ASH) annual meeting.
The AIS CELLector CD5/CD8, designed to reduce graft versus host disease (GvHD) by depleting T cells from donor bone marrow prior to infusion into a recipient, yielded preliminary results that indicate a low rate of acute GvHD in a high risk patient population.
The study also showed that the AIS CELLector CD5/CD8 effectively depleted T cells and minimally depleted CD34+ cells from the bone marrow of all donors.
