RAD17

A gene on chromosome 5q13 which encodes a protein that binds to chromatin before DNA damage and is phosphorylated by the checkpoint kinase ATR following damage. RAD17 recruits the RAD1-RAD9-HUS1 checkpoint protein complex onto chromatin after DNA damage. RAD17 phosphorylation is required for the DNA-damage-induced cell cycle G2 arrest, and is a critical early event during checkpoint signalling in DNA-damaged cells.

There were four cornerstones to the work of the CCYC of the East.
The fourth cornerstone was the fact that the CCYC was a completely youth-dominated and youth-directed organization.
CCYC was the first Chinese-American-organized youth group to gather on the Eastern Coast in such large numbers.
They felt welcomed by the friendly and hospitable atmosphere of the CCYC milieu, so that artificial barriers that existed between youth from different locales and subgroup backgrounds fell away.
